BOSTON EDUCATION ACTIVISM TOUR

PAID SPRING INTERNSHIP FOR METCO STUDENTS GRADES 10-11-12

Reveal the struggles that aren’t in the history textbooks—right from the streets where they happened. 

METCO Headquarters is seeking a small group of scholars and storytellers to research and present a tour of Boston that uncovers the history of activism for educational equality, including the founding of METCO itself. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Learn the history of Boston’s education activists
  • Create a tour that explores the untold struggles for equitable public schools
  • Present the tour to suburban students and teachers

Runs January 14 - June 6
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30-5:30pm,
Saturdays 10am-2pm in Roxbury
(dates and times subject to change)

Stipend: $80/week

This project was inspired by MYTOWN Boston,
and incubated through Hacking the Archive at MIT.
