METCO University presents Shared Legacies: Film Screening and PD Workshop for Educators

As part of our METCO 2.0 antiracism initiatives and in partnership with the Redstone Family Foundation and Spill the Honey Foundation, METCO HQ is sponsoring a free virtual professional development workshop for educators, diversity club leaders, or METCO Staff who teach about history, race, and/or DEI to students ages 14 and up.

This workshop is designed to introduce teachers to Shared Legacies, a powerful one-hour documentary that explores the historic alliance between African Americans and Jewish Americans during the Civil Rights Movement, emphasizing shared struggles and triumphs in the fight for justice.

The accompanying culturally responsive curriculum provides educators with essential tools to address the rise in antisemitism, racism, and hate while fostering empathy, unity, allyship and cross-cultural understanding among students.
